Hi everyone,

I'm new on this forum and have a query regarding Condor. I sent my CV there a few weeks ago and was very surprised to have been called and invited for the 'DLR Test'. Being an Irishman having done modular training in Ireland, I didn't think they would even look at me, so I was delighted to get the phonecall.

Now, my query is, what is included in the DLR test and what is the best way to prepare it? If successful, what can be expected for the sim check and follow up interviews?

I would be grateful for any advice, and if possible in English, since my German is only basic conversational...

Thanks a million!

Hi,

in the first stage (generally called DLR-Test) you can expect psychometric aptitude tests (i.e. concentration, mental arithmetics, spatial orientation etc.), a technical quiz, a quiz about crm, an englishtest and multi-task coordination. With your written invitation you should ge a password for the DLR homepage where you can download a set of practice cbt, additonally i seriously recommend the training software "Skytest", it includes most of the aptitude tests with customizable settings and is, with a price of 50€, really not that expensive. You should stay away from so called "professional" test preparation courses, as they can't (and certainly won't) offer you much beyond what you can get out of Skytest (in fact, one provider uses an own "extended" version of Skytest which is the very same software with an additional technical/english question bank) however charge 500€ and more. I would rather buy an hour in a Full-Flight Sim instead...

More to the Sim Screening and the third stage later... meanwhile you should checkout www.pilotenboard.de, most things concerning the tests are discussed there (it's in german however...)

Thanks for your help, much appreciated!! If anyone else has any advice, I'd be glad to hear it, especially regarding technical ATPL type questions and what sort of things they look for in the personnel interview.

well - not that it's a test but: most probably you need to speak and write German fluently...

At least they asked for it the last 30 years.

Nevertheless: good luck, mate!

I did leaving certificate German (like Abitur) so I'm ok, although it has been a few years since I used it, so before going to the test, I'll do some German classes to brush up on it all.

Does anyone know if there are any Irishmen or Brits already in Condor, or even if there are many non-Germans in the company?
